Great little getaway. We came from Cardiff and Tony was very nice, lovely cooked breakfast, very comfy bed, amazing free standing bath that completely relaxed us. Felt totally refreshed. If we're ever in the area will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Great place to stay. Tony is a great cook, and is a treat to chat with. Spent many hours sat by the fire with him,during our stay. Room was quirky,oldy worldy,but clean. Suited us perfectly. If you want a sterile, dull hotel chain room, this is not the place for you. Will definitely be going back.
We were not staying at the Dusthole, but the food was recommended to us by our own guest house, so we gave it a try. Wow! Truly delicious. And massive portion size. And a very reasonable price. The Baked Camembert starter was served with an actual loaf of bread - not just a few slices... Then the huge main course arrived... we didn't think there was any chance of finishing it... but we did: there was no way we were going to leave a scrap of such a delightful meal behind on the plate. A memorable meal. Worthy of a public mention.
Meet by Tony on arrival and we could book in early. Took our dinner choice and showed us up to our room. Room was family room which was large and spacious. The room was clean with bath and separate shower. Dinner was very tasty especially the dessert. As we were on ghost hunt at the prison, getting back at 0300 was no problem. Breakfast was just as hood as dinner . Would book again.
A fantastic quirky little gem of an inn. Wonderful open fire in a cozy bar that takes you back to another age. Tony the owner is quite a guy. His big fluffy dog is adorable. A pleasant change from the bland sterile chain hotels
Stayed here around Febuary time for a week, was fairly quiet and I was put in a large family sized room. The room was fantastic, whilst it could be a little cold (due to nature of the building) an electric heater was provided in the room. Bathroom had both a very large bath and a shower - both had piping hot water and were great. Bed was comfy and had a great nights sleep in what was a lovely place. I eat out most nights though was convinced to have a meal by the owner. I was reccomended the pie and I must say it didn't disapoint, large potions, fantastic pie and great prices. Breakfast was great, everything you need was available. Owner and bar staff were also fantastic. The only downsides are limited parking (on road parking is available though) If I am ever in the area again, I will be staying here without a doubt.
Had a great time with my family. We couldn't of felt more welcome at the dust hole. The food was amazing breakfast was included with the room and dinner was pre booked for the evening which worked well for us. The food was seriously good. The bar in the evening was very nice with a good atmosphere with an open fire and people playing boardgames and chatting away. Super close to shepton mallet prison so if your doing anything there at night really easy and close to get back to your room. Thanks Tony for a great time at the dust hole and we will hopefully see you again soon
What an experience? Do you like character? Quirky? Fun? A dog that looks crossed with a boar! Then this is the place. Loved it! Good rooms, comfortable beds. Did I mention Tony is an excellent chef and an even better storyteller? Highly recommend for an entertaining time.
